[The Essence of Aptitude] was a beautifully written book by a promising young author. I loved the complexity of the characters and their relationships, especially the relationship between the two sisters, who were each very interestingly and uniquely developed. It's a fast-paced, intense story that had me hooked from the beginning. I stayed up way too late while I was reading it, upset when I had to put it down because my eyes just wouldn't stay open anymore! My only complaint is that it ended so abruptly; I can't wait to figure out what happens next!

Esha Bajaj uses beautifully descriptive prose throughout [The Essence of Aptitude], painting a vivid picture with her words. She has developed a complex world that is much like the caste system, and is an interesting take on finding ones place and even improving ones status within a society where the odds of rising above the circumstances of ones birth are slim and unlikely.
The characters in this book are well thought out, and the story line held my interest throughout. I was eager to continue reading, to find out more.
Like another reviewer, I was also surprised to discover that the author is so young; she writes exceptionally well and has done a fabulous job of this novel. I highly recommend this book, it is well worth reading!
